Donate to Support Your City Parks

Dear Friends of the Parks,

Our city parks have given us the space to breathe, to feel safe, and to learn. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our city parks have sheltered homeless Angelenos. They’ve hosted summer day camps so working parents could make ends meet, and served as learning centers when school campuses closed. For all of us, they’ve provided the comfort of nature and a sense of relief. Now, we need your support to preserve our clean, beautiful, public spaces as they face budget cuts and staff furloughs.

Thank you.

What has the LA Parks Foundation been up to?

✦ Clippers Community Courts: Completing our installation of more than 300 new basketball facilities throughout the city through generous support from the Los Angeles Clippers.

✦ Los Angeles Park Forests: Planting groves of mature trees in city parks throughout L.A. to offset our carbon footprint, cool surface air temperatures, and educate the public about climate change.

✦ COVID-19 Emergency Support: Raising essential resources for temporary homeless shelters, safe summer camps for working families, and daycare for the children of emergency workers.

✦ Alternative Learning Centers: Providing essential learning equipment and technology to young students at our city’s recreation centers while LAUSD facilities remain closed for the pandemic.

Environmental Sustainability: Installing fifteen new blue receptacles as part of Griffith Park’s first-ever recycling program in a new partnership with Coke.

✦ Park Facilities Upgrades: Installing new fitness equipment and other amenities in Glen Alla Park and Hollenbeck Recreation Center through partnerships with Cedars Sinai and Wells Fargo, respectively.

Parks are an essential component of what constitutes a great city. The mission of the Los Angeles Parks Foundation is to enhance, expand, preserve and promote public recreation, parks and open space for the people of Los Angeles.
