2022 Griffith Park Half Marathon & 5K

 

Griffith Park Run is back!

Course Description:

Historic Half Marathon (13.1 Mile) Course

Starts at the north-end of the Pony Ride trail adjacent to the ranger station. Participants will be able to pass by the pony ride trail, then cross over Crystal Springs Road and access the trail going into the Merry Go Round, then towards the famous Travel Town. Finally, participants will pass by the Zoo, Gene Autry museum, cover the perimeter of the golf course and finally finish back near Pony Ride area. Access to Pocari Sweat electrolytes, water, and bathrooms. Run GPR is open to all levels of ability. Take your time, hike, jog bring your family.

5K (3.1 Mile ) Course

Flat and fast route that takes participants by the iconic golf course and then returns back near the start line area. Water & Pocari Sweat electrolytes also available on the course.

First Timers:

Water stations will be located every 3 miles along the route of the half marathon. They will be 2 electrolyte hydration recovery opportunities along the route as well.
Portable bathrooms will be located near the halfway point in the travel town area.
There will be 3 first aid support teams at different points along the route.
1. Near the Merry Go Round
2. Near Travel Town
3. Near Autry Museum

Race Day Schedule

1/2 Marathon Start – 7:30A.M.

Please Line Up at that starting line no later than 7:15AM

5K Start Time – 8:00 A.M.

Please Line Up at that starting line no later than 7:45AM

Starting Line Rules:

Pets on a leash and must start with their owners on the back of the line with the strollers and parents. Navigate safely through the course as you will be going through narrow steep trails. Slower runners/joggers start just behind the front group, which consist of 5-7 minute per mile runners. Look-out for young children who start with a sprint.

Event Day Parking

Plenty of parking will be located off of Crystal Springs Road. There will be parking behind the ranger station, across the ranger station near the merry-go-round area, and additional parking just north of the Pony Ride area. Follow RunGPR parking signage at both entrances from Crystal Springs Road.
