2019 Rose Award honoring Judith Kieffer

The Rose Award is an annual luncheon and ceremony honoring a woman who has made extraordinary contributions to the quality of life in Los Angeles. All funds raised through the event go to support the Los Angeles Parks Foundation.

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Thank you for joining us for a memorable Rose Award luncheon last Thursday and honoring our founding Executive Director Judith Kieffer.

Mayor Eric Garcetti’s touching tribute to Judith demonstrated the breadth and depth of the Los Angeles Parks Foundation’s work over ten short years—from building brand new parks from the ground up, to re-surfacing every basketball court in a city park through a $10 million grant from the Los Angeles Clippers. We were all moved by Giselle Tse’s story of how mentorship at the Echo Park Recreation Center transformed her life. It demonstrated the important role that parks play every day in the lives of Angelenos.

Many thanks always to our partners in the LA City Department of Recreation and Parks for helping to create a beautiful afternoon. We’re glad you spent a lovely lunch with us to smell the roses that our city parks produce every day.

2019 ROSE AWARD HONOREE

JUDITH KIEFFER

Judith Kieffer is a third generation Angeleno. She is dedicated to making a difference in the city she has always called home. That has involved creating a number of not-for-profit organizations, most recently the Los Angeles Parks Foundation. Founded in 2008, the LAPF has helped improve many of the city’s parks, underscoring the important place that parks occupy in our lives. Judith’s work over the past 10 years has established an institution to support our precious parks for the benefit of future generations.
