LA This Week: Griffith Park Lovers Just Got 10 More Green Acres to Enjoy

Los Angeles city officials and park enthusiasts gathered at Griffith Park on Thursday, March 9, for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the purchase and donation of nearly 10 acres to the city — one of the last remaining privately-owned parcels within the park — to preserve as open space for Angelenos to enjoy.

A 9.7-acre parcel once owned by Hollywood studio magnate Howard Hughes was purchased by the nonprofit Los Angeles Parks Foundation and donated to the city’s recreation and parks department.
